Catnip for sexual favours!

Not wanting to brag but it seems I’m currently irresistible to sex-hungry young women from overseas.

Despite their inability to write or spell English, they all want to connect with me via emails. They call me “honey” and “babe” and offer to send photos of themselves in various degrees of undress. And all without being formally introduced or accompanied by a chaperone!

I don’t know who these women are but I’m assuming they are friends with the Nigerian government minister who keeps offering me several million dollars for safe keeping if I will send him my bank account details.

WHAT? You mean you’ve been receiving these unsolicited messages, too!?

And I thought it was my old world English charm and sense of humour that made me catnip for sexual and financial favours.

More seriously, it’s this kind of scam nonsense that prevents your genuine and legitimate sales and marketing emails from getting through. The people you want to communicate with and introduce yourself to are probably junking your emails unread or barely glanced at because they, like you and me, are wary of unsolicited messages from people they don’t know.

Very true Philip and we all say: “you’re not going to bombard me with lots of adverts for stuff I don’t want”. Not nailing down the targeting aspect early on has cost all marketers in terms of the ability to get through to their customers now. I would have to say it’s made them ‘gun shy’!

Very few offers of sex (thank goodness!) but lots of warnings that my criminal record has been checked – which surprised me as I don’t even have a speeding ticket.

Thanks for the warning on the “criminal record” scam, Anita. Has anyone else come across this one? Or other email scam attempts?

It wasn’t too shabby a vintage actually, Brian. Surprising your lack of “luck” when one considers some of the more mature years can be rather exotic…! 😉

This is not an age thing, gents. We all know that when a man passes 40 he becomes irresistible to young women… despite the greying hair, the bald patch and the bulging stomach. It’s about obstacles to successful email campaigns, in case you missed it…

Age difference doesn’t seem to matter to the young ladies concerned…. or the Nigerian minister…

I’m sorry, I’ll stop sending the emails – but I really thought we had a connection
